Texas Success Initiative (TSI)
The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a program established by state law to enhance college student achievement. The program consists of two main elements:
- An evaluation that tests students' fundamental abilities in reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Developmental or preparatory coursework to enhance the academic abilities needed for collegiate success.
Which students are required to take the TSI exam?
Students pursuing a degree or certificate program exceeding 42 hours must complete an approved TSI exam, unless they qualify for an exemption.
Which TSI exam does LSCO provide?
The institution administers the TSI ASSESSMENT 2.0 (TSIA2)
What accommodations exist for students with visual or hearing disabilities?
Multiple formats of the TSIA2 are available, including:
- Standard and large-print paper versions
- Braille format
- Audio versions
Students needing alternative testing formats can request accommodations through LIT, LSCO, or LSCPA.

You have several options to schedule your exam:

Please note that this is a virtual workshop is offered to the students served by the Polk County Center. Students who sign up must attend in-person at the Polk County Center.
