Phlebotomy

Our Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to prepare students to enter the healthcare workforce as a phlebotomist. The program focuses on skill development in blood collection methods using proper techniques and universal precautions. It includes vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfly needles, blood culture and specimen collection. In an effort to prepare students for the workforce, the class will have the opportunity to practice blood collection on each other and volunteers prior to the end of this course.

  • This course will be a face-to-face class that meets twice a week.
  • The required textbook for this course is the Phlebotomy Technician Textbook and can be purchased from the publisher, Amazon, Ebay, where-ever books are sold.
  • Blue scrubs are preferred but not required for this class. Please wear comfortable closed toe shoes while in the lab.
