Phlebotomy
Our 80-hour Phlebotomy course offers 32 classroom hours and/or online hours, comprised of theory and “hands-on” training, as well as 48 hours of clinical time. This course teaches all aspects of phlebotomy, with current coverage of equipment, safety procedures, arterial blood gases, point-of-care testing, and practical phlebotomy skills. Students will begin practicing on training devices and progress to live skin. Techniques taught consist of capillary puncture, syringe, vacutainer, winged infusion sets and blood culture draws. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion after all course requirements are met.

The Lamar State College Orange Workforce and Continuing Education Department does not accept financial aid, federal student loans, or payment plans for the $500 tuition fee. Full payment is required at least 3 business days prior to beginning the program. No refunds are given once the class begins.

- Other fees (approximate): $50 Background Check through Viewpoint; $5 Student ID, and $40 scrubs (Do NOT purchase scrubs until the instructor gives you the correct information.)
