Clinical Medical Assistant

The Clinical Medical Assistant Course is a program of study for students who are preparing for many of the exciting, challenging, and rewarding careers in the healthcare field.

This program will prepare students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical duties of a medical office. Clinical instruction includes: preparation of the patient for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, injections, venipuncture, and CLIA approved office tests. 

Students will study the history and types of healthcare opportunities, professional workplace behavior, ethics and the legal aspects of the healthcare setting. Students will also learn about and use some of the technology in the healthcare field as they undertake and engage in clinical experiences within the surrounding communities’ healthcare facilities.

The Cllinical Medical Assistant Program is  offered face to face, with skills/practical appication interwoven with instruction. At the end of the course to complete the certification, each student will need to complete an externship.

The externship portion is a nonpaid, supervised position in a contracted medical facility and is designed to allow students to demonstrate the skills and technical ablities aquired through the program.
